Things did not change much in 200 years, we should not get mixed up in things we don,t know, ok .
Still a good read but with the old German spellings not as easy or fun as it could be.Nonetheless... would read again.
Karl May is classic, every German child has read some ... I wish the orthography was updated to the newest standard.
It is the most delightful adventure novel to read. The subsequent volumes are equally good.
Read it as a teenager and had a lot of fun 're-reading it. Karl May's Arabic stories are as good as his famous Winnetou books.
Read it in 1st grade and enjoyed it 70 years later. Only irritating problem for me are typos, though grammar in general is better than most modern books
